{"id":7547,"date":"2018-04-25T09:29:31","date_gmt":"2018-04-25T07:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/?p=7547"},"modified":"2018-04-25T09:29:31","modified_gmt":"2018-04-25T07:29:31","slug":"mojacar-rockabilly-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devmojacar.talleragencia.com\/en\/mojacar-rockabilly-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car Rockabilly weekend."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Moj\u00e1car Rockabilly weekend.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\tThis coming weekend, from the 27th to the 29th April, Moj\u00e1car takes a trip back in time to the 1950\u2019s with the distinct sounds and rhythms of Rockabilly, making the town jump and jive to the best groups in this musical genre.<br \/>\nOrganized by Moj\u00e1car Council, Kuver Producciones and DCM Promotions in collaboration with Almer\u00eda Provincial Diputaci\u00f3n, it is the first time ever that the event will take place in the Levante Almeriense.<br \/>\n\tRockabilly is a musical style that sprang up in 1950 in the south of the U.S.A.  It is very similar to rock and roll, but with a strong country influences in its rhythms and instrumentation. Best known representatives of this musical movement, which has its distinct style and life philosophy, include Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.<br \/>\n\t With Pike Calvero as master of ceremonies introducing national and international acts, the highlight will be on the Saturday night, with performances by AJ &#038; The Rockin&#8217; Trio, Kick&#8217;em Jenny, Marcos Sendarrubias and Mario Cobo.<br \/>\nThere is also a full programme of free activities, including performances by top rockabilly stars such as Al Dual (recently awarded Best Rockabilly Soloist at the prestigious 2018 Ameripolitan Music Awards) and Diego Cruz, both on the Friday from 10 p.m. The Radions and Saint Peter Square will also perform on Saturday from 2 p.m. onwards and, Sunday afternoon\u2019s beach party will include a guitar show by Mario Cobo and Daniel \u00c1lvarez.<br \/>\nThe Moj\u00e1car Rockabilly Weekend, following the success of last year\u2019s Almeria\u2019s Desert Wind Festival, is a musical event not to be missed which also includes a Flea Market where you can find 50&#8217;s clothes and accessories. Bars, terraces and restaurants will be open with dance classes by Al Swing and Al Cabo.
