{"id":4757,"date":"2016-12-29T10:34:52","date_gmt":"2016-12-29T08:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/ii-gala-flamenca-zambomba-navidena\/?lang=en"},"modified":"2017-01-16T14:50:09","modified_gmt":"2017-01-16T12:50:09","slug":"mojacar-hosts-2nd-flamenco-gala-zambomba-navidena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/en\/mojacar-hosts-2nd-flamenco-gala-zambomba-navidena\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car hosts 2nd Flamenco Gala &#8220;Zambomba Navide\u00f1a&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong>Today, Friday December 30, Moj\u00e1car Town Council\u2019s Festivities Department has organized the 2nd Flamenco Gala featuring the well-known group, &#8220;Zambomba Navide\u00f1a&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At 9 p.m, at the Town\u2019s Centro de Usos M\u00faltiples, the flamenco world celebrates Christmas to the sound of the zambomba, a traditional homemade instrument accompanied by tambourines, rattles and a bottle of An\u00eds. Of the numerous Flamenco events that take place throughout the year, the Christmas ones are the most popular.<\/p>\n<p>They take their name from this traditional instrument and, have their origin around the courtyards where, from early December, the residents meet spontaneously to sing carols, buler\u00edas, tangos and all types of flamenco. Its history goes back to the eighteenth century, in the neighbourhoods of Jerez, where they shared food, wine and songs, although it quickly spread throughout Andalucia.<\/p>\n<p>Although there are fewer patio performances nowadays, the tradition has not been lost and is still celebrated in clubs, associations and neighbourhoods, forming groups that are spreading the art and culture from town to town.<\/p>\n<p>In Moj\u00e1car tonight, we will be treated to great performances by Ana Alonso, Isabel and Mar\u00eda \u00c1ngeles Carrillo and Tony Santiago, who will dance to the vocals of Antonio Garcia &#8220;El Genial&#8221;, Cristo Heredia and Eduardo Garc\u00eda.
