MOJ\u00c1CAR: The municipality celebrates Book Day 2026 with an ambitious cultural programme for all ages
\nFrom the 18th to the 26th of April, the locality hosts storytelling, literature, documentary films, creative workshops, and live music.
\nTo celebrate International Book Day, the Local Council presents a week packed with activities designed to promote reading, creativity, and social inclusion.
\nWith a varied programme, municipal venues are turned into the epicentre of culture from Saturday 18th of April to Sunday 26th of April.
\nLiterary launch and documentary film
\nThe activities began on Saturday 18th of April at 11.30am in the Municipal Library with the “El cami\u00f3n volador” (The flying truck), children’s storytelling session by Jos\u00e9 Miguel Sanz Mira, an event designed to spark the imaginations of the very youngest.
\nOn Thursday 23rd of April, the big day for literature, the “Perdidos por los libros” (Lost in Books) Book Club met at 7pm in the municipal library to discuss the classic “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
\nThe programme will continue on Friday 24th at 7.30pm in the Senior Citizens’ Centre with a screening of “Hacia el bosque\u201d (Into the forest), a documentary about Autism”, a documentary made by Oscar Gagliardi and Agust\u00edn Ernesto Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

Weekend of street activities and music<\/p>\n

On Saturday 25th of April, the activities move on to the streets with an intensive day:
\n\u2022\t11.30am (Plaza Arboll\u00f3n): Fan painting workshop. Places are limited and require prior registration by calling 674 784 191.
\n\u2022\t12pm (Plaza Arboll\u00f3n): Grand literary Gymkhana through the village streets, a fun way to connect literature with the beautiful urban environment of Moj\u00e1car.
\n\u2022\t8pm (Multi-Uses Centre): Musical grand finale with the show “Trashumancia” by Julio B\u00e9jar, which will mix live music and poetry, with free admission until capacity is reached.<\/p>\n

Artistic Closing<\/p>\n

To end the week, on Sunday 26th of April at 12.30pm, the La Fuente Art Centre will inaugurate the group exhibition “Pintando la vida para que no desti\u00f1a” (Painting life so it doesn’t fade), featuring works by the artists Garc\u00eda de la Torre, Beatriz Onieva, and Gato Pardo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
