{"id":19439,"date":"2023-03-14T10:38:07","date_gmt":"2023-03-14T08:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mojacar.es\/carrera-popular-dia-mujer\/"},"modified":"2023-03-15T10:46:27","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T08:46:27","slug":"carrera-popular-dia-mujer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devmojacar.talleragencia.com\/en\/carrera-popular-dia-mujer\/","title":{"rendered":"Moj\u00e1car Council organises a popular walk to celebrate international women\u00b4s day."},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p> Under the slogan: \u201cTogether we are strong\u201d, M\u00f3j\u00e1car Council in collaboration with the Almer\u00eda Provincial Council and Moj\u00e1car Red Cross organised a solidarity Walk-Run in celebration of International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\tLast Sunday, close to 300 people took part in this solidarity event held on the locality\u2019s seafront promenade.<br \/>\n\tThe participants signed up for a symbolic price, all destined for the Red Cross, which included a bib, a pink T-shirt commemorating the day and a serving of paella to end the day of coming together. According to the organisation 897 euros were collected, which will be a great help for this association.<br \/>\n\tPrior to the walk, several workshops were organised on the promenade, such as laughter therapy and bio-dance, in which numerous volunteers took part, it being necessary to double the number of monitors.<br \/>\n\tAlso collaborating on this festive day were Platino Fitness Center and the Los Bandidos Nogalte Athletics Club, who along with the participants filled the town\u2019s promenade with pink T-shirts in a fun \u201c`pink\u201d tide that filled Moj\u00e1car beach with light and solidarity.<br \/>\n\tThe route was planned to go from the Red Cross headquarters to the Hotel Indalo to then retrace steps back to the finish line located at the departure point: the Red Cross headquarters.<br \/>\n\tSomewhat more than five kilometres, which some did running and others at a pretty sedate walk.<br \/>\n\tThere were participants of all kinds: families, also including babies in their pushchairs accompanying their parents, grandparents and pets; Spanish and British runners and of all nationalities, young sportspeople and the not-so-young, but all united on a day to enjoy as a family, to join in the celebration of Women\u2019s Day and to show solidarity with Moj\u00e1car Red Cross, which does such important work in the locality.<br \/>\n\tThere was a prize for the first three to reach the finish line. In the men\u2019s category, Steven Murton came first with a time of 19 minutes, followed by \u00c1ngel Jos\u00e9 Blazquez and Sebasti\u00e1n Reading.
