Moj\u00e1car retains the six Blue Flags it gained last year, making it one of the Almer\u00eda municipalities with the most beaches to have earned this distinction.<\/p>\n

\tThe Moj\u00e1car beaches of El Cantal, El Descargador, Lance Nuevo, Marina de la Torre, Piedra Villazar and Venta del Bancal – Ventanicas have been awarded with the Blue Flags which the European Foundation for Environmental Education gives out every year to the beaches and ports which meet the strictest criteria in terms of water quality, environmental management, safety and services, as well as environmental information and education.
\n\tThe organisation also takes into consideration accessibility for people with reduced mobility, health and lifesaving services and maritime surveillance.
\n\tMoj\u00e1car has had Blue Flags since 1991, the year when Moj\u00e1car local council presented the El Descargardor beach as its only candidate, and which, following a rigorous inspection by the National Operators, gained its flag. Ever since the blue standards have always flown along Moj\u00e1car\u2019s coast and other beaches have gained the award, the number going up until reaching the six obtained in recent years.
\n\tAt the same time these beaches also have the SICTED \u2013 Covid 19 Prepared, \u201cTourism Quality Commitment\u201d, quality distinction, which accredits and recognises compliance with the quality requirements established by the Secretary of State for Tourism, with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, and which recognises tourist destinations\u2019 efforts on and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
\n\tThe SICTED Quality Stamp is valid for two years, although this is subject to an annual follow-up evaluation which guarantees the application of the specifications established on its platform.
\n\tAs a result of the world pandemic caused by the coronavirus, SICTED has added another distinction: \u201cCovid-19 Prepared\u201d, which identifies the beaches or establishments which have implemented rigorous measures to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection, and which has also been obtained by the six Moj\u00e1car beaches.
\n\tMoj\u00e1car has 17 kilometres of coastline, of which seven are the beach area. It boasts urban beaches with full services and so-called natural beaches, none of which are prohibited from use, and where bathers can enjoy bathing surrounded by nature and the locality\u2019s magnificent landscapes.
\n\tThere\u2019s no doubt that Moj\u00e1car will start the 2021 tourist season with the recognition of the great efforts made throughout recent years. The local authority is, through the different councillorships involved, carrying out important work on the creation of new infrastructure, safety and well-being which reaffirms Moj\u00e1car as a quality destination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
